Does anyone have a good one they can recommend please! I have been on the google trail looking and somehow managed to get a trial of one brand for a month but when I rang them for help I asked the very helpful young man what the price would be if I went ahead after the trial. It was $385 each year plus $220 for the set up! To me that is a lot of money for just a small stud to afford. There was another cheaper one but it didn't have the facility to add in your pedigrees which I would really like to have. Thanks in anticipation. Ali

Hi Ali We use Kintraks. Its easy to use, pedigrees, proposed pedigrees, health history, joining/calf drop dates with notes etc. It's free for (I think) up to 100 pedigrees or you pay a small one-off fee for a full copy of unlimited animals/pedigrees. So you can try before forking out any money to see if it's suitable for you. Here's the link

Hello again Donna, just thought I would let you know I downloaded the software and have been playing/entering all day!! We are still trying to get our printer working (since we moved to Tas), so can't print out the HELP booklet as yet. But I am having fun (so far), and I'm sure it will all fall into place soon. It looks like an easy program to use and has lots of interesting bits and pieces. Will keep you posted. Thanks again. Ali

Hi Ali
That’s great you are finding the program as helpful as we did/are. We also found it pretty intuitive just get in there and start putting info in too.
The features we use quite a bit are
• Adding of extra fields to accommodate the extra DNA testing we do for each moo. That info then appears in the pedigree under each animal – great when you are selling a moo.
• The inbreeding co-efficiency with listing the relative’s name with percentage.
• And the joining with birth dates. We add these in from a marked calendar when everyone is joined / calved with strutting date. All that info is very useful to us when the following year comes around.
• And we have just started to add in all the extra costs like drench, treats, blocks, tags, DCAI membership fees, registration, DNA testing costs etc.
We already put in the purchase price and selling price for those who are in new homes.
Keeps all the moo associated expenses together without clouding it with other farmy costs.
